Floridians also produce gamefish fingerlings (largemouth bass, sunfish, and catfish), triploid grass carp, turtles, snails, frogs and bait fish to satisfy specialty local, national, and international markets. The technical and market knowledge required to successfully produce these products and sell them for a profit is unique to each species. Producers have expressed a need for specific public investment to improve feeds, primarily nutritional content and digestibility, to achieve improved growth and animal health.
