Aquaculture Education for elementary students
This masthead photo shows a typical
catfish farm. Aquaculture, the farming of aquatic
plants and animals, has much to offer as a topic for learning. Concepts in
science, social studies, math and language arts all can be taught in a lesson
related to this unique form of agriculture. Please feel free to use any
and all parts of the accompanying lessons -- or expand on them as you wish.
This program was initiated to fill a void in agricultural education for young
learners. The first in the series targets students near the second grade
level. Based on feedback and need, we will develop additional lessons.
